We have now completed the activities of this project - read what we have been able to do!
Between April and November 2025, we implemented the project „Developing volunteering in a community sponsorship model”. Its aim was to develop volunteering activities within the Good Integration Space by introducing an innovative model of cooperation between the local community and people with refugee experience.
The project involved the parallel inclusion of two groups of volunteers: residents of Poznań and refugees living in PDI. With the support of a volunteer specialist, both groups were prepared for their new roles, introducing them to the legal and cultural framework of volunteering in Poland. The refugees were additionally included in the process of substantive preparation to run their own initiatives.
The project included:
• Translation of information material into Arabic, making the content of PDI's activities accessible to all residents with a migration experience.
• Recruitment and preparation of 11 volunteers, including people from the local community and Sudan.
- Meeting At the dinner table we talk about volunteering and integration (Seniors. Poznan. 2025), during which volunteers prepared refreshments inspired by Yemeni cuisine and invited seniors to integrate together.
• Open information event on the situation in Sudan – All eyes on Sudan, co-hosted by refugees and an invited expert. The event broadened the knowledge of Poznan residents about contemporary social and political conditions in the country.
• Continuous promotion of activities on the Association's social media channels.

The project has contributed to the sustainable strengthening of volunteering in the organisation. Mixed volunteer teams were built within PDI and refugee people were given the opportunity to actively contribute to the local community. The provision of Arabic language content has increased the accessibility of information and facilitated the inclusion of new PDI residents in community activities.
Thanks to the involvement of volunteers and the local community, the project has become an important step in developing the community sponsorship model in Poznan and building mutual relationships based on respect, shared responsibility and real cooperation.
The „Volunteering to Poznań 2025” competition is implemented by the CREO Association as part of the Poznań Volunteer Centre. Financed from the budget funds of the City of Poznań #poznańsupports #poznań #pomocnipoznań
